Detectives Continue to Investigate January 2021 Homicide of Russell Huffman; Ask Public for Information

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the January 4, 2021 homicide of 38-year-old Russell Troy Huffman that occurred in Germantown.  Investigators believe members of the community have information that will lead to an arrest in Huffman’s murder.  Detectives are urging anyone with information regarding this homicide to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online or via the P3 Tips app.  A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the homicide suspect(s).

On January 4, at approximately 4:54 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call for the report of a person who was not breathing in an apartment in Germantown.  Officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded and located Huffman inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was pronounced deceased at the apartment.
