Traffic Enforcement Initiative Leads to Thirteen DUI Arrests

For Immediate Release: Monday, March 18, 2024

During the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, 2024, twelve officers from the Montgomery County Police Department and Troopers from the Maryland State Police conducted 82 traffic stops, resulting in 129 traffic citations, 64 traffic warnings, 21 safety repair orders, one criminal arrest and 13 DUI arrests.

 

**It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by saturation patrol detail officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties. Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this time period is higher.
