Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) have charged 29-year-old Isaac Tomas Pellegrino of Laytonsville, with homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, in connection with a fatal collision that occurred in July 2024.
According to investigators, the collision occurred when Pellegrino, driving a blue 2019 Kia Stinger, was traveling northbound on Goshen Road. His vehicle collided with a white 2021 Hyundai Venue, driven by 25-year-old Yanique Tyshay Jones of Rockville, which was heading southbound near the intersection of Goshen Road and Rock Elm Way.
Jones was extricated from her vehicle and transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation by CRU detectives determined that Pellegrino reached a top speed of 69-mph in a 35-mph zone with a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.19.
Pellegrino was arrested on Sunday, December 8, and later released on bond pending trial.
