Gaithersburg, MD - The suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of his wife inside of their Fairland home is in custody.
58-year-old Edwin Javier Aragon is accused of shooting and killing Sarahi Concepcion Aragon-Cruz, on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
At approximately 5:41 p.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 3000 block of Memory Lane for the report of a shooting. First responders found Aragon-Cruz suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Aragon was immediately identified as the suspect.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division – Homicide Section applied for and obtained an arrest warrant charging Aragon with first-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.
Aragon, who left the scene after the shooting, turned himself in at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, at the Montgomery County Department of Police 3rd District Station on Milestone Drive in Colesville.
He is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
