For Immediate Release: Thursday 2 October
Montgomery County lost a dedicated public servant with the death of Molly Ruhl, who served three terms as the elected Clerk of the Circuit Court from 1994 to 2006.
Her career in public service spanned decades. She began as an administrative assistant to Chief Judge John Mitchell before her election as Clerk, where she led with professionalism and care for the courthouse community. Her commitment to service extended beyond the courthouse. She raised her family in Chevy Chase, taught Sunday school at Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, and was active in the Montgomery County Democratic Party for many years.
Montgomery County is grateful for Molly Ruhl’s years of service and the impact she had on both our institutions and our community. I extend my condolences to her family, her friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
