Statement by Council President Berliner

on County Executive Leggett’s

FY18 Recommended Operating Budget

 

ROCKVILLE, Md., March 14, 2017—Montgomery County Council President Roger Berliner issued the following statement today after County Executive Isiah Leggett transmitted his Fiscal Year 2018 recommended operating budget to the Council:

 

“We appreciate the hard work by the Executive and his staff to develop the Fiscal Year 2018 recommended operating budget. Now it’s the Council’s job to craft the final budget.

 

“Our committees and the full Council will undertake this process over the next two months. We will carefully balance the need for important County services and pressures on our taxpayers. We look forward to receiving the views of our residents as we move through the budget process.”

 

The Council’s public hearings on the operating budget are scheduled for April 4-6. Those interested in testifying at the public hearings can sign up online starting Thursday, March 16, at http://tinyurl.com/hl3mpdx or by calling 240-777-7803.
