National Preparedness Month

On Sept. 9, 2025, Councilmember Sidney Katz presents a proclamation recognizing National Preparedness Month, highlighting the importance of emergency preparedness for all who live and work in Montgomery County. Councilmember Katz was joined by Dr. Earl Stoddard, assistant chief administrative officer, on behalf of County Executive Marc Elrich.

From natural disasters to unexpected emergencies, being prepared saves lives and strengthens communities. Montgomery County is committed to working alongside residents, community partners, and groups of organizations like Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) to ensure that every household has the tools and knowledge needed to respond and recover.
