ROCKVILLE, Md., July 22, 2020—Montgomery County Council President Sidney Katz will host the ninth installment in his ongoing series of virtual business briefings for County residents on Friday, July 24 at 12:30 p.m. The briefing will take place on the online video communications platform Zoom.
Council President Katz will be joined by Carmen Larsen, chair of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Janice Freeman, CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce. The discussion will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on small businesses and County’s economic reopening process, with a focus on the Latino and African American communities.
“African American and Latino business owners in Montgomery County make tremendous contributions to our economy and quality of life, and partnering with them to ensure a sustainable economic recovery is incredibly important,” said Council President Katz. “As a former small business owner, I know how integral local businesses are and will continue to be, and look forward to discussing how we can support and collaborate with minority-owned businesses.”

Residents will also have the opportunity to submit questions in the Zoom chat during the question and answer portion of the briefing. Residents must register ahead of time by emailing [email protected] to participate. Residents will receive the Zoom call information by email when they register.
