After this discussion, to celebrate School Bus Safety Week, Ms. Salazar will speak about what the Latino community in the County can do to improve the safety of children and school bus drivers, including ensuring residents respect traffic laws to help contribute to the eradication of traffic accidents in the County.

To end the program, Ms. Rivera will talk about MCPS’ “Say Yes to the Test” campaign to encourage families to consent for their children to receive free COVID-19 testing at their school.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.

Andrea Sarralde and Liliana Henao are the hosts of this week’s show and will continue to co-host the shows this fall.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
