Montgomery Council President Craig Rice to Meet With Media on Monday, Oct. 27 Topics He Will Discuss Include Property Tax Credit for Seniors of Limited Income, Next Steps to Improve County’s Procurement Process, ‘Ban the Box’ Bill

Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice will meet with members of the media at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, to discuss key items that will be facing the County Council and its respective committees in the near future. Among the topics he will discuss is Bill 17-14, which is scheduled for Council action on Oct. 28 and would provide a property tax credit to senior citizens with low incomes. He also will discuss the next steps in improving County procurement practices regarding minority, female and disabled contractors, including the creation of two task forces.

Council President Rice’s meeting with media members will be held in the SIXTH FLOOR Conference Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.

Council President Rice also will discuss the ‘Ban the Box’ bill the Council that is scheduled for Council action on Oct. 28. Amended bill 36-14 addresses at what stage of the job application process an employer can ask an applicant about their criminal backgrounds.
