ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 1, 2017—Montgomery County Councilmember Sidney Katz, who serves on the Council’s Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee and the Public Safety Committee, will be the featured guest at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 on En Sintonía con el Concejo del Conado de Montgomery (Tuned in with the Montgomery County Council), a weekly show on Radio America (WACA 1540AM). The live show will include a discussion about public policy issues that impact County residents and an opportunity for listeners to ask questions.
Councilmember Katz will be joined by guests Renato Mendoza, Advocacy Specialist for CASA and will discuss the importance of town hall meetings, the groundbreaking of the purple line and the impact that it will have in the county and in the Latino community.
Maryland launched construction on the Purple Line on Monday. When complete, the 21-stop rail line will carry an estimated 41,000 passengers a day and generate more than 50,000 new jobs.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one- hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
