MCDOT Changes to Parking Restrictions Help to Support More than 50 Silver Spring Restaurants Open for Curbside Pickup, Takeout and Delivery During COVID-19 Health Crisis

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT), in an effort to support restaurants that will depend on carryout orders, curbside pickup and deliveries during the COVID-19 emergency—and to also help the residents that will be using those services—last week announced that it has established “No Parking” zones in Parking Lot District areas with high concentrations of restaurants. Those zones will prevent long-term parking in spots in front of the establishment while allowing temporary “standing parking” of 15 minutes or less.

More than 50 Downtown Silver Spring restaurants are currently offering curbside pickup, takeout and delivery during the COVID-19 health crisis. Dine-in service during the crisis has been banned throughout Maryland by an order of Governor Larry Hogan. Learn more.
