Suspect Arrested for Two Bank Robberies

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division have arrested a suspect for two bank robberies - one that occurred on October 15 at the TD Bank located at 19501 Frederick Road in Germantown and one that occurred on October 25 at the Capital One bank at 12 Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg.

Christopher Lee Guzman, age 29, of the 11400 block of Stoney Point Place in Germantown was arrested on November 12 and charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of theft.  He is currently being held on a $300,000 bond.

Guzman was developed as a suspect in the bank robberies after detectives provided photos of the suspect to the media.  An anonymous tip was received through Crime Solvers that provided the address where the suspect was living.  Detectives determined that Guzman was residing at the address provided by the tipster.  Detectives then obtained a photo of Guzman from a previous arrest and matched the photo to the surveillance photos that had been obtained from each bank. Based on the above, the arrest warrant was issued for Guzman.
