Update: Rockville Pedestrian Collision Now Fatal

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate a now fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in Rockville on October 16.  The pedestrian, Pedro Mendoza, age 54, of Gilbert Road in Rockville, succumbed to his injuries on Friday, October 28.



On Sunday, October 16 at approximately 8:50 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Norbeck Road (Route 28) and Baltimore Road in Rockville for the report of a pedestrian collision.  Preliminary investigation has revealed that Jum Soon Kim of Burtonsville was operating a 1999 Acura Integra eastbound on Norbeck Road.  As Kim was traveling through the intersection of Baltimore Road, she struck Mendoza, who was crossing Norbeck Road on the east side of the intersection. Mendoza was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries on October 28.
