Update: Fourth Suspect Arrested for Montgomery Village Homicide

For Immediate Release: Friday, April 7, 2017

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division have arrested a fourth suspect for the February 10 homicide of 20-year-old Wassi Harron Raheem Young from Hyattsville.

On Wednesday, April 5, Shiloh Young, age 18, of the 4200 block of Willshire Avenue in Baltimore, was arrested at his residence on the strength of a Montgomery County arrest warrant for the homicide of Wassi Young.  Shiloh Young was transported to the Central Processing Unit (CPU) where he was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.  Shiloh Young is being held without bond.

Three suspects had been previously arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the homicide of Wassi Young.  The three suspects arrested were:

On February 10 at approximately 2:02 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (911) received multiple 9-1-1 calls for a shooting that had just occurred in the 8500 block of Hawk Run Terrace.  Officers from the 6th District and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the area and located Wassi Young in the parking lot of the neighborhood suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Wassi Young succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

During the on-scene investigation, detectives learned that a 23-year-old male had arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.  Investigators spoke with this male and determined that he was shot during the same incident in which the homicide victim, Wassi Young, was shot.

Major Crimes detectives have determined that Shiloh Young, Davion Foster, Samuel Brown, Tierek Thomas, and Wassi Young wanted to rob a drug seller. The suspects, together at a residence on Hawk Run Terrace, called various people that they knew sold drugs.  Shiloh Young contacted a seller who agreed to drive to the area of Hawk Run Terrace and sell them marijuana.  This person was later identified as the 23-year-old male who arrived at the local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

The seller drove to the 8500 block of Hawk Run Terrace and parked his vehicle.  Wassi Young, Foster, Brown, and Thomas encountered the seller and attempted to rob him at gunpoint.  Shots were fired and Wassi Young and the seller were shot.

After the shooting, all parties fled.  Wassi Young succumbed to his injuries in the neighborhood parking lot.

On Tuesday, April 4, detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigate Section charged Shiloh Young with armed robbery, first-degree assault, and theft offenses related to a March 1 armed robbery that occurred in the area of Wheelwright Drive and Buhrstone Drive in Gaithersburg.
