Update: Identities Released - Rockville Pike Fatal Collision; Police Ask for Public's Assistance in Locating Driver's Family

UPDATE: September 14, 2017: A family member of Gonzales-Saravia has been located and detectives have been able to speak to the family member.  Thank you to everyone who shared the information.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate a fatal collision involving a Montgomery County Ride On Bus and a sedan that occurred on Saturday, September 9.

The driver of the Ride On Bus is being identified as Donnett Marsha Lawrence, age 48, of Crabbs Branch Way in Derwood.

The driver of the Honda Accord, who succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision, is being identified as Luis Enrique Gonzales-Saravia, age 23, of an unknown address.  Detectives have been unable to locate any of Gonzales-Saravia's family members and are asking anyone with information on possible family members of Gonzales-Saravia to please call detectives at: 240-773-6620.  Investigators are releasing a photo of Gonzales-Saravia and information that they have learned about him that might assist the public in identifying him:

  • He is believed to be from El Salvador based on documents located in his vehicle.
  • His last known residence, approximately a month ago, was on Terry Drive in Derwood, Maryland.
  • He worked for a landscaping company in Gaithersburg for the last two to three months.
  • He has possible ties to New York City based on papers located in his vehicle.
