Update: Burtonsville Death Investigation; Identity Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the death of an adult female who was found deceased in a pond behind the 14200 block of Ballinger Terrace in Burtonsville.

The decedent has been identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as Kristin Danielle Bessix, age 36. Ms. Bessix was known to stay in the area of Castle Boulevard in Burtonsville.  She was reported as a missing person to police on November 22 and a press release was issued asking for the public’s assistance in locating her and/or information about her whereabouts.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Bessix’s death. The autopsy findings are pending.
