Update: Pedestrian-Involved Collision in Rockville Now Fatal

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a now fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred on Thursday, October 18.

On Thursday, October 18 at approximately 6:15 a.m., 1st District officers, Rockville City officers, and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Hungerford Drive (MD Route 355) and Frederick Avenue for the report of a serious collision involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2003 Lexus ES300 was traveling southbound on Hungerford Drive.  The pedestrian, Dingguo Guo, was crossing westbound Frederick Avenue at Hungerford Drive. For reasons still under investigation, the Lexus collided with Guo in the intersection.

The driver of the Lexus 300E, Valerie Jeanne Beaudoin, age 56, of the 19900 block of Burchap Place in Montgomery Village was not injured in the collision.

Guo, age 61, of the 1900 block of Valley Stream Drive in Rockville, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Guo succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Friday, October 19.
