Update: Detectives Continue to Investigate Sex Assault in Montgomery Village; Composite Sketch of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) continue to investigate the April 20th rape of an adult female that occurred in Montgomery Village. 

Today, investigators are releasing a composite sketch of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.  The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20’s.  He has brown hair, approximately 6-feet-tall, and weighs approximately 180 pounds.   The suspect has a tattoo behind his left ear and was last seen wearing a sweatshirt and jeans.

On Saturday, April 20th at approximately 10:15 p.m., the victim was exiting a Ride-On bus in the area of the 19300 block of Watkins Mill Road.  The victim noticed that the suspect began following her as she walked from the bus stop.  The victim began to run but the suspect followed and knocked her down.  The suspect then pulled the victim into a grassy area by the woods nearby where he raped her.  The victim was able to get away from the suspect and return to her home.  The victim went to a local hospital where the police were notified of the incident.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or who may have information about this rape to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5050.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to their line that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this crime.
