Statement From County Executive Marc Elrich on Eid al-Adha

For Immediate Release: Thursday 30 July

I am pleased to wish our Muslim sisters and brothers a happy Eid al-Adha! Unfortunately, this holiest of holidays cannot be celebrated as it usually is because of the pandemic. Eid al-Adha is about faith, caring for others in the community and the sacrifices we must make for the things we believe in. During this worldwide pandemic, we have all sacrificed a great deal, but we have made these sacrifices because we know that we must work together to make things better.

As you begin your celebrations this evening with your immediate family or virtually with friends and loved ones, it is my hope that your celebrations will be sources of renewed hope, abiding faith, and great joy! Please stay safe, continue to maintain social distance, and most of all, keep the faith. Eid Mubarak!
