Update: Hoggle Missing Children Case - Additional Details Released

For Immediate Release: Saturday, September 13, 2014

The Montgomery County Police Department continues to search for and seek information regarding the whereabouts of Jacob and Sarah Hoggle.  Catherine Hoggle, their mother, remains in police custody.  The following additional information is being released at this time.  For ease of reading, these additional points will be listed:

Searches

• Today, Montgomery County Police search teams will continue to search areas of the County that detectives believe Catherine may have visited recently.  The search process is highly organized and systematic, conducted by police officers, and is overseen by the Montgomery County Police Department Search Team.  The areas to be searched today were determined prior to Catherine Hoggle's apprehension last night.

• Police K-9s will assist with these searches today.  Please be mindful that additional people (scents) may confuse the dogs. Please give officers and dogs room to search/work.

Catherine Hoggle

• Catherine Hoggle continues to be questioned by detectives but has not provided specific information about her children.

• Police do not know the whereabouts nor the welfare of the children.

• During police questioning, Catherine Hoggle has indicated to detectives that the children are alive, at one point saying, the “kids are safe.” But this statement has not been verified by police.

• Catherine Hoggle has altered her appearance, by changing the look of her hair.

• Police believe that Catherine Hoggle has spent the last several days and nights on the streets. She was disheveled when she was located and taken into custody last night.

Anyone with information about this case and/or the whereabouts of the children is asked to immediately call 911.
