Update: Search for Hoggle Children Continues

For Immediate Release: Sunday, September 14, 2014

The Montgomery County Police Department continues to search for and seek information regarding the whereabouts of Jacob and Sarah Hoggle.  The following additional information is being released at this time:



  • The children have not been located.
  • Catherine Hoggle remains in the custody of the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.  She will have bond review tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in Rockville District Court.
  • Today, eight areas in Darnestown were searched.  No evidence was recovered.
  • Searches will continue tomorrow and will be conducted by Montgomery County Police search teams and K-9s.
  • There is a press conference planned for 11:00 a.m. tomorrow (Monday, September 15). Captain Darren Francke, Director of the Major Crimes Division, will talk about the status of the investigation, the interview of Catherine Hoggle that occurred after she was apprehended, and the search process.  The press conference will be held at the Public Safety Headquarters (100 Edison Park Drive in Gaithersburg).

  • The Department will continue to update the public and media on this case via press releases and social media.  We understand and value the community's continuing concern for the welfare of the children.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the children is asked to call 9-1-1.
